This policy explains what data skyrimmap.com (the "Site") handles and why. Short version: we store your map progress in your own browser, we do not require accounts, and we keep third-party data collection to what analytics, advertising and hosting need.

What is stored in your browser

Your found markers and theme preference are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you export them yourself. Clearing site data in your browser removes them.

Hosting logs

The Site is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare records standard aggregate request logs (IP address, country, page, status code, user agent) for security and capacity purposes and retains them for a limited time under its own privacy policy.

Advertising and cookies

The Site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info. When personalised advertising is enabled, visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent dialog before advertising cookies are set. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which pages are read most and which features of the map are used. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and collects information like the pages you visit, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the Site. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. We use the reports only in aggregate and do not combine them with any other data about you.

You can block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. We do not run fingerprinting or any other cross-site tracking scripts of our own.

Children

The Site is a general-audience gaming reference and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age required in your country).

Your rights

Because we hold no account data about you, most data requests concern Google's analytics and advertising cookies, which you control through the links above and your browser settings. For anything else, contact us and we will help.
